Abuse triggers Church review
David Quainton, PR Week UK, Wednesday, 09 May 2007, 6:16pm,
The Church of England is revamping its comms support following recent revelations about instances of child abuse by some members of the clergy.
The Church’s head of comms Peter Crumpler told PRWeek it was undertaking a complete review of how it handles comms around sexual abuse charges, on both a national and diocese level.
He said there were ‘lessons to be learned’ after two cases broke in the last week.
‘We need to express our regret and sorrow about the situation, and how we will not be complacent, from an early stage,’ he added.
