Sonus helps to launch talking travel phrasebook
PR Week UK, Wednesday, 25 April 2007, 1:19pm,
A talking phrasebook for mobile phones, backed by lastminute.com, is using Sonus PR for its UK launch.
Developer Coolgorilla has brought in Sonus to make consumers aware of the service, which speaks foreign language phrases through the mobile phone speaker. It is accessed through lastminute.com.
The account will be led by Sonus PR MD Martin Smith, who reports to Coolgorilla developer Roy Forsdick.
Users access the phrasebook by navigating through a selection of suggested phrases. The phone then speaks in the chosen foreign language and shows a written translation. The phrasebooks come in French, Spanish, German, Italian and Portuguese, each covering a variety of subjects such as eating, travel and flirting.
Sonus MD Martin Smith said the agency would target particularly consumers on holidays and short breaks who can feel lost leafing slowly through a phrasebook. The speed and ease of use of the application would be emphasised, he said.
