The Lowe Group has expanded its healthcare public relations
division with the purchase of Fusion Communications. The agency is the
sixth largest UK healthcare PR agency, according to Marketing’s PR
League Tables, published last week.
Fusion will be renamed Lowe Fusion Healthcare, and will be part of the
Lowe Healthcare division of The Lowe Group. The healthcare division was
set up early this year with plans for further acquisitions. It first
entered the healthcare sector in 1996 with the acquisition of William
Douglas McAdams, which subsequently became Lowe McAdams.
A spokeswoman at The Lowe Group said: ’The healthcare market is widely
acknowledged to be a huge potential area of growth. The consolidation of
the market changes the way drug companies use advertising.’
Julia Cook, managing director at Fusion, said: ’Companies are looking to
produce global brands. Drug companies want a core marketing campaign
that will meet all the international objectives, and is tailored to each
country’s regulations.’
