Thompson in MSN consumer move
PR Week UK, Wednesday, 28 February 2007, 6:13pm,
Microsoft's consumer internet business MSN UK has recruited Hazel Thompson, previously Yahoo! head of UK PR, to handle its consumer comms.
Thompson joins MSN later this month in the role of consumer PR manager. She will report to an as-yet unappointed director of comms, but in the interim reports to group marketing director Alex Payne.
MSN UK has been searching for a communications chief since head of PR and corporate affairs Chris McCafferty quit last autumn to become director of corporate communications Europe for MySpace and Fox Interactive Media (PRWeek, 27 Oct 2006).
Thompson spent two years at Yahoo!. She previously worked for The Red Consultancy and spent five years at Firefly.
