Skills body readies website campaign

The Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) is to bring in a consultancy to raise awareness of its learning and skills sector web portal.

The Excellence Gateway - at excellence.qia.org.uk - aims to supply workers in the learning and skills professions with resources, support and examples of best practice.

It particularly wants to attract teachers of 14 to 19-year-olds, and those working in school sixth forms, colleges, community learning centres and prisons.

A feature of the portal is a community-based element that will help those accessing the site to share examples of best practice.

The winning consultancy will target trade and industry media to reach teachers and lecturers. Other stakeholders include the DfES, Lifelong Learning UK, National Institute of Adult Continuing Education, and the Centre for Excellence in Teacher Training.

Agencies pitched this week for the account, which will run until September, with a chance to extend to March 2008.
