Carers Week set for wider focus
PR Week UK, Wednesday, 21 February 2007, 6:00pm,
Carers Week has handed an expanded brief to Trinity PR (TPR) as it gears up for the flagship June event.
The charity coalition focused on the health of full-time carers last year, but has widened the week's focus this time around.
TPR account manager Tracey Thompson said this year's campaign would concentrate on the career prospects, finances, social lives and relationships of the UK's six million carers.
As well as surveying more than 5,000 carers to assess the impact that caring has on their lives, the agency has been briefed to find celebrity supporters to give the week extra leverage with consumer, national and lifestyle press.
‘We will also be lobbying MPs to take part in a scheme where they shadow a carer for a day,' Thompson added.
Carer's Week this year is 11-17 June.
TPR worked on the week for the first time last year (PRWeek, 3 Feb 2006).
