Double for Triangle
Radio Rentals and the Burton Group subsidiary Evans have both appointed
Triangle Communications as their below-the-line agency. The agency will
provide a broad-ranging below-the-line service for Radio Rentals, while
Evans has briefed the shop to develop a data-driven marketing programme
and an aggressive promotional drive.
Vintage deal
Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin du Bordeaux has awarded its below-the-
line account to TBWA Direct. The agency has been asked to create a full
consumer and retail campaign to work through the licensed trade, to
stimulate consumer loyalty and improve store presence.
Puma scores
International sports company Puma has signed a pounds 15m five-year
contract with Leeds United Football Club for the rights to supply
playing, training and replica strips.
Spreading good news
St Ivel Utterly Butterly is celebrating its first birthday with a pounds
1.3m on-pack promotion. The promotion will feature birthday cards
offering consumers the opportunity to win one of more than 50,000
prizes.
Lee gets the blues
Lee Jeans is to back the release of the music from its current TV and
cinema ad campaign. Lee has joined record company Silvertone in putting
together magazine and newspaper competitions, and posters in support of
Baby Lee by blues guitarist John Lee Hooker.
Leisure voucher push
Whitbread Leisure Vouchers is targeting 600 creative directors in direct
marketing and sales promotions agencies with a direct mail push, through
Judith Donovan Associates. The aim is to communicate the role vouchers
can play in ensuring the success of a below-the-line campaign.
Revolver is on target
The British-American Tobacco company has appointed Revolver
Communications to handle PR and sampling for Lucky Strike cigarettes.
The agency is working with One Four One, the Bates Dorland subsidiary,
which handles sales promotions.
Tequila’s new recruit
Sales promotion agency Tequila has recruited a new account manager to
work across a range of accounts, including Rothmans UK. Ed Burnand joins
the agency from CBA Marketing and Promotions Agency.
Agency strikes Golding
Golding Products, the computer media and accessories distributor, has
appointed Osborne Publicity Services as its PR agency.
Osborne will be supplying a full PR service as well as producing the
company’s 1997 brochure.
New name in the McCann
McCann-Erickson has renamed its regional PR network. Formerly McCann PR,
the consultancy network is to adopt the group’s full name to become
McCann-Erickson Public Relations.
