Branding: Ethical 'builders' tea makes debut
Marketing, Wednesday, 17 January 2007, 12:00am,
Make Mine a Builders, an ethically sourced tea brand that draws on builders' reputation as tea connoisseurs, is launching this month.
A spokesman for the brand's owner, design agency Elmwood, said its experience in innovating on behalf of brands had encouraged it to launch a branded consumer product of its own.
Make Mine a Builders was developed for the building trade, but its distribution is being extended to the public with listings in major multiples from this month. The packaging features bright yellow graphics on a black background.
The tea is a blend of Assam and Kenyan teas. Proceeds from sales of the tea go to a foundation that has been set up by the Federation of Master Builders to support a range of building trade initiatives, including apprenticeships and building projects, around the world.
