The agency beat incumbents Carat and Media Campaign, plus the7stars and MindShare to the business following a lengthy five-way pitch.
The win caps a fruitful month of new business activity for the Publicis-owned agency, which also picked up the £20m Premier Foods account at the start of December, following a final shoot out with rival agency Carat.
According to Nielsen Media Research, EMI spent £11.9m on media over the last 12 months using TV, outdoor, press, online, radio and cinema channels.
