MPG hunts for new marketing director
Elizabeth Barrett, Media Week, Wednesday, 20 December 2006, 2:10pm,
Media Planning Group marketing director Simon Pont has been poached by Naked to return to a more strategy-based role.
Pont, 33, will join Naked as a strategy director in the New Year primarily working on its Boots client.
MPG has yet to appoint a replacement for Pont and is understood to have already briefed headhunters to fill its marketing director vacancy.
Pont joined MPG in October 2004 from ZenithOptimedia, where he was a strategist. Prior to that, he worked at Saatchi & Saatchi and CIA Medianetwork, the former name for Mediaedge:cia.
Mark Craze, MPG managing partner, said Pont had decided to return to working on client strategies after a spell in marketing and new business.
