The content division of SMG has launched a Scottish-oriented web TV channel aimed at a worldwide audience.

SMG Productions launched www.scotlandontv.tv today in the first of a series of planned web TV channels, with more launched in 2007.
Managed by SMG Productions' head of business development, Helen Alexander, the channel is aimed at expats, tourists and people interested in exploring their Scottish roots.
The channel, which will include six channels such as news, food and drink, sport and history, will launch with programming from the archives of the country's biggest commercial broadcaster, STV.
Future content will include daily news bulletins from STV's news teams as well as more archive programming.
The channel is currently free-to-air and available only via streaming but SMG plans to introduce archive programming on download-to-own and subscription bases early next year.
Video-streaming technology for the channel will be provided by ROO, which specialises in internet broadcasting.
