Havas has appointed Romain Dessal to the newly created role of chief commercial officer for Havas Media, one month after uniting its MPG media agencies under the new umbrella brand.

The agency network announced the creation of Havas Media at the end of October, bringing under its remit global network MPG, its communications services network Arena, its online and digital network Media Contacts, plus Havas Sports and B6 Integrated Entertainment.
In his new post, Dessal will be charged with driving up the competitiveness of the group, stimulating further integration between media and advertising, plus managing new business, marketing and client servicing.
Dessal has spent over a decade within Havas in France and the US.
He joined Havas-owned company DevarrieuxVillaret in 1996 as a strategic planner, then moved to Boston where he worked for five years at Arnold Worldwide, managing operations across the 15-strong agencies international network.
