LONDON - Havas Media has appointed Romain Dessal as chief commercial officer of the newly launched media holding company.
In this newly created role, Dessal will be responsible for pooling skills from across the Havas Media networks in order to increase the competitiveness of the group, as well as new business, marketing and client servicing.
The newly created post signifies a fresh strategic direction for Havas, which last month integrated its media operations, bringing all Media Planning Group media agencies under the newly created umbrella of Havas Media as well as its other media properties.
Dessal's appointment will stimulate further integration between media and advertising as he comes to the role with over 10 years working within Havas in France and in the US.
He joined the Havas-owned company Devarrieuxvillaret in 1996 as a strategic planner, then moving to Boston, where he worked for five years at the Havas-owned advertising agency, Arnold Worldwide, managing operations across the 15-strong international network.
Dessal said: "There are some truly innovative and exciting developments within the Havas Media networks and I look forward to working with all teams to develop new opportunities for the group."
Alfonso Rodes, chief executive of Havas Media, said: "During his career Romain has developed an extensive knowledge of global client and operation management. His impressive international track record and corresponding outlook will enable us to strengthen our relationships between the Havas Media networks and their clients."
Havas Media comprises comMPG, the Havas Media global network; Arena, Havas Media's communications planning network; Media Contacts, the online and digital network; Havas Sports, the network's sports marketing specialists; and B6 Integrated Entertainment; the group's branded entertainment network.
