Computer company Unisys is reported to be looking for an
advertising agency just one month before a multimillion-pound relaunch
by Bozell Worldwide.
The company is keen to shake off its old image as a mainframe specialist
and reposition itself as a one-stop shop that manufactures, installs and
maintains corporate computer systems.
The new campaign will focus on Unisys’ various divisions and expertise
in areas such as fraud and banking.
The worldwide launch on September 23 coincides with the first
anniversary of the appointment of Lawrence Weinbach as chief executive
officer.
’The campaign is based on extensive research to re-evaluate and
reposition the company. We have changed dramatically since we formed in
1986, when we were solely a mainframe company,’ said a Unisys
spokesman.
He denied claims that Unisys is seeking another advertising agency.
’Bozell Worldwide is our agency of choice and we have no intention to
make changes,’ he said.
However, a number of London agencies confirmed they have been approached
about the account.
