E.ON to sponsor TalkSport FA output

E.ON, the energy company and new sponsor of the FA Cup, has signed a deal with TalkSport to sponsor the station's editorial coverage of the competition.
The deal will come into effect in January 2007 and run until the FA Cup Final in May. It will include coverage of the draw, a feature within the Drivetime show on Friday evenings ahead of match weekends, and interviews.
The deal was brokered by Lucy Davis at TalkSport and Jonathan Barrowman, head of radio at Initiative.
TalkSport will also run a competition to find one fan and would-be sports reporter who will be sent to an FA Cup match every weekend.
After each game the fan, who will be chauffeured there and back by an E.ON driver, will talk on-air about the match and write a blog for the station's website.
"This relationship is another example of official partners activating their headline sponsorship on TalkSport," said Adam Bullock, sales director at TalkSport.
