Hollywood Lovers, the series that Yorkshire Tyne Tees refused to show after group managing director Bruce Gyngall condemned it, provoked only five complaints from viewers in the rest of the country. They argued that its sexual content meant it should not have been shown just after the 9pm watershed. But the Independent Television Commission ruled there were no explicit parts of the programme which would make it unsuitable for the 9pm slot.
