Direct-marketing agency WWAV Rapp Collins is financing a Christmas Day
DRTV ad for its five charity clients from the budget which it would
normally have paid for corporate Christmas cards.
The agency is producing a two-minute commercial for the five charities:
the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Age
Concern, Oxfam, Scope and Shelter. It will be shown on Channel 4 in the
afternoon.
The commercial will show a series of emotive shots relevant to each
charity and will ask viewers to donate pounds 15 via an 0800 number.
‘This type of appeal, featuring a number of different charities in the
same commercial, is the first of its kind,’ said John Watson, chairman
and managing director of WWAV Rapp Collins. ‘We anticipate that it will
generate a significant response.’
