Diary: PRWeek gong-fest is a record-breaker
PR Week UK, Friday, 27 October 2006, 12:00am,
The PR industry awoke this Wednesday to its annual communal hangover after the most successful PRWeek Awards in history.
The 20th such event took place on Tuesday night at London's Grosvenor House and was cheerfully compered by BBC broadcaster Jeremy Vine.
Diary was delighted to see Fleishman-Hillard's UK supremo Kevin Bell there, given that his civil partnership with classical musician Michael Haas at The Ivy (where else?) was to take place the following day.
Bell, sitting right next to the stage, was subjected to taunts by similarly follicly challenged comedian Terry Alderton, who mocked his lack of hair with the quip: 'You and me could be the Mitchells, couldn't we? You could be Peggy ...'
Bell smiled politely and pointed across the table at a fellow baldie.
