Gala Coral picks PN as act looms
PR Week UK, Thursday, 19 October 2006, 12:00am,
Gaming group Gala Coral has handed its entire consumer account to Porter Novelli after a hotly contested pitch.
The appointment comes as the group prepares for the implementation of the 2005 Gambling Act, which will impose new regulations but allow the creation of ‘super-casinos'.
PN secured the brief, worth more than £200,000, after a seven-way pitch.
Gala merged with Coral in a £2.18bn deal last year and is expected to float next year. Before the merger, the companies used a number of agencies on a project basis.
PN director Lucy Melling heads the account, reporting to Gala Coral group comms manager Sarah Mercer.
