Enjoy England to flag family-friendly venues
Nicola Clark, Marketing, Wednesday, 18 October 2006, 12:00am,
Enjoy England is pursuing an interactive marketing strategy to support the launch of a scheme showcasing family-friendly accommodation.
The first phase of activity will comprise a competition to find a logo for the 'Families welcome' scheme, which will be promoted online at www.enjoyengland.com/prizes.
The scheme has been developed to encourage family breaks. It will be promoted in 140 tourist information centres in the UK. The logo will be displayed on accommodation that fulfils the family-friendly criteria, as well as the Enjoy England and VisitBritain consumer websites.
The accommodation will be listed on both sites, where visitors will be able to post their own ratings.
Enjoy England has also added more suggested activities and destinations for families on its website.
Families are a key market for the tourism body, accounting for 59% of the holiday market in the UK - the equivalent of 23m trips, worth £3.7bn.
