Norwich Union has appointed David Sims as group head of marketing as
part of the insurance group’s preparations for its expected stock
flotation next year.
Sims, currently marketing director at Allied Dunbar, will take up his
post early next year and oversee all the company’s marketing.
Norwich Union will step up its brand-building activity next year with a
TV campaign through Saatchi & Saatchi, the first corporate ads since
1995. The company launched a separate pounds 2m campaign for its newly
launched direct insurance operation earlier this year.
Sims’s departure from Allied Dunbar follows internal restructuring last
month, which saw head of personnel and organisation Phil Hodkinson
replace Jerry Greyburn as company board director for marketing, leaving
Sims in the more junior post of marketing director.
