A brief look at some of this week's leading PR stories
TECH Kingston Communications has promoted group director of comms Anita Pace to marketing director for the telco's regional consumer, business and internet services operation. Pace now oversees a team of 28, adding product management and marcoms to her IR and corporate comms brief.
CONSUMER Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance is reviewing its consumer account out of three-year incumbent Ptarmigan PR, which has been invited to re-pitch.
AGENCY Frank & Earnest Communications is hunting an MD after founder Brett Gregory-Peake relinquished the role to concentrate on ‘strategic development'. Now acting as chairman, Gregory-Peake said the agency wanted someone who would invest in return for ‘significant equity'.
BROADCAST RadioCentre, the soon-to-launch body representing the commercial radio industry, has appointed The Media Foundry to assist with its launch and recruitment of an in-house comms team.
CORPORATE Burson-Marsteller's Amsterdam office has recruited Catelijne Wessels in the newly created post of corporate comms director with a brief to strengthen clients' CSR credentials. She joins from business network CSR Europe, where she is a senior director.
AGENCY Northern Ireland-based GCAS Public Relations has rebranded as Duffy Rafferty Communications. With ten full-time staff and annual fee income of £850,000, the agency has undergone a management buyout by directors Lawrence Duffy and Michael Rafferty in 2005.
TECHNOLOGY Chameleon PR's total fee income for 2005 was £1.1m, rather than £1.4m as stated in the Technology league table (PRWeek, 9 June). It has 17, not 27 staff, and is a member of the PRCA.
