Future unveils technology websites
James Bainbridge, Media Week, Thursday, 01 June 2006, 3:29pm,
Future will launch two technology websites this autumn, covering computing and consumer electronics.
TechDaily.co.uk will target high-spending technology enthusiasts, enabling users to create unique home pages out of the content on offer.
Sister site TechTested.co.uk will be aimed at the broader market of consumers doing research before they make computer or electronics purchases.
As well as offering price comparisons, TechTested.co.uk will draw on Future’s database of reviews from its magazines including PC Plus, Home Cinema Choice and Total Mobile.
“This information can be as detailed or as concise as users specify, also allowing fantastic targeted opportunities for advertisers and potential sponsors alike,” said group publisher Stuart Anderton.
Anderton heads up the websites, which are handled by a team of 11 in London and Bath.
“We are treating the launches of the websites in the same way we would launch any major magazine, hitting the ground running with a fully resourced editorial and production team,” said Anderton.
