FHM Collections to close
Robin Parker, Media Week, Wednesday, 19 April 2006, 11:25am,
Emap has closed its bi-annual men’s fashion title FHM Collections after nine years, claiming that the market was too small to sustain it as a standalone magazine.
The publisher said it wanted to beef up fashion coverage within FHM and focus on growing it as a 'superbrand' across new media.
Although it did not have an ABC figure, FHM Collections was understood to have a circulation of more than 50,000.
It is the second spin-off of the magazine to close following the demise of fitness title FHM Bionic in 2002.
David Pullan, FHM managing director, confirmed the Spring/Summer issue of FHM Collections, currently on sale, would be the last.
The closure follows IPC's repositioning of Loaded Fashion as Fashion Inc, a competitor to GQ Style.
