Sony PlayStation’s latest computer game is to be projected onto buildings across the UK in a launch campaign planned by Manning Gottlieb OMD.
Gamers will be able to play Shadow of the Colossus when it is projected onto buildings such as the Baltic Flour Mill in Newcastle, Bristo Square in Edinburgh and other locations in Birmingham, Manchester and London.
The campaign will be supported by local PR and Making Waves will be driving people to the outdoor events.
Those wanting to participate will be able to practice in local bars before testing their skills on the 16 meter wide projections.
Sony, a longstanding client of Manning Gottlieb's, will promote the game websites including FHM Games, nme.com and skysports.com. The online ads will be accompanied by press creative, designed by TBWA, in gaming title Edge, Total Film and DVD Review.
Shadow of Colossus features vast landscapes where the player confronts 16 colossi, gargantuan beasts in a battle to save their beloved's spirit.
Faye McDowall, brand communications manager at Manning Gottlieb OMD, said: "To play the game on 16 meter wide projections is a really interactive way of experiencing the sheer magnitude of the landscapes and the Colossi."
