Fina, the petrol retailer, is introducing a customer-loyalty card which
gives motorists the chance to contribute cash to local schools and
charities.
Fina is rolling out the card to 60 of its 500 branded petrol stations as
part of the scheme’s first phase. The rest will follow in February.
Holders of the card, ‘Fina for you’, can collect one point for every
pounds 6 of petrol bought.
Points can be redeemed for products from a variety of third-party
sources such as the Index catalogue, the Burton Group or Going Places.
Alternatively, the tokens can be cashed in and given to charity.
Fina has 5% market share of the UK retail petrol market, which in 1994
came to 27 million tonnes.
