LONDON - The Sci Fi channel is to screen the 1980s science fiction classic 'V' among a slate of new acquisitions for its early 2006 schedule.
The classic show will be joined by Stephen Spielberg's Emmy Award-winning alien abduction series 'Taken', as well as a raft of movies including 'ET', 'Roswell', 'Them' and 'Deep Evil'.
The Warner Brothers made 'V-The Mini Series' has previously been described as "one the great science fiction events to hit Britain in the 1980s" and was watched by more than 10m viewers when it first aired.
The series follows resistance fighters as they fight back against reptilian aliens here to harvest the world's natural resources. It will air from Friday February 10 at 8pm.
Distributed by the BBC and set against a backdrop of 20th century American history, 'Taken' tells the story of three families through 50 years of alien encounters from World War II to the present day.
Jon Farrar, programming director at Sci Fi, said: "Taken and V were landmark shows of their time and, with support from among others ET and documentaries such as 'The Roswell Incident', 'Sci Fi' will be flying the flag for all things alien throughout the month of February and beyond."
Further complementing the line-up will be a raft of documentaries including 'Watch the Skies', 'The Roswell Incident' and 'A Very British UFO Hoax'.
