AGENCY Cake co-founding partner Ben Jones has resurfaced at youth agency Freewheelin’ Media in a director role. Jones left Cake in February (PRWeek, 9 February) and has spent the intervening period on ‘personal film projects’.
MUSIC Broadcast/music PR firm TX Media and The Red Consultancy have won Nokia's tender for its forthcoming music initiative, details of which remain undisclosed (PRWeek, 7 October). TX Media is run by ex-Virgin Records man Tony Barker and Dawn Estefan, an events specialist.
CONSUMER PokerShare.com has briefed Shine Communications to handle its consumer PR. The brand's main differentiator in a cluttered market is that it shares 40 per cent of profits with subscribed players.
CORPORATE Electrical retailer Comet has confirmed Fiona Jennings in the role of general manager of corporate comms. She had been freelancing since March. EH PR handles trade and consumer comms for Comet.
CONSUMER Halifax General Insurance is sticking with incumbent agency Citigate Dewe Rogerson following last month's four-way review (PRWeek, 14 October).
TECH Check Point Software Technologies has brought in Credo Communications. It takes over from Firefly Communications, which fell out with Check Point in an argument over fees (PRWeek, 23 September).
CSR Conference 'CSR and the Media' is to take place on 9 December in Manchester. Speakers include AstraZeneca UK comms chief Sally Sykes. Tickets cost £105 (£82.50 for PRWeek subscribers). For full details go to www.csrandthemedia.com.
POLITICS Tory leadership contender David Davis has brought in Iain Duncan Smith's former press secretary Nick Wood. Wood's agency, Media Intelligence Partners, started work with Davis's campaign last week.
