Feeny takes top DCMS comms job
PR Week UK, Thursday, 06 October 2005, 12:00am,
The Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) has promoted head of news Paddy Feeny to director of strategy and comms.
Feeny, who has been acting in the post for three months, takes over next week from Siobhan Kenny, who joined Walt Disney Television as V-P of comms in June (PRWeek, 24 June).
Overseeing a team of 30, he will manage comms for the 2012 Olympic Games, co-ordinating the Mayor's Office, London councils, the British Olympic Association and Sport England.
He will also handle the Government's PR efforts around the new licensing laws and the Gambling Act.
'This is a high-profile post with a controversial in-tray,' said DCMS deputy head of news Toby Sargent.
