Johnson King wears five-a-side crown
PR Week UK, Thursday, 29 September 2005, 2:37pm,
Tech agency Johnson King is lording it after winning a five-a-side football competition against Text 100 and PRWeek last week.
Regular readers will recall that the match had been re-arranged (and
extended to include JK's participation) after the original contest was
embarrassingly aborted when Text 100's team failed to locate a pitch
that they themselves had booked (PRWeek, 5 August).
Text 100 made no mistake this time round - they were eagerly warming up
at a newly booked venue while PRWeek were still getting changed and JK
had yet to even arrive.
JK eventually won the tournament, leaving account director Joe 'The Cat'
Banks to warm the cockles by saying: 'It's heartening that PR and the
media can come together like this, united by the beautiful game.'
Managing director Mike King, meanwhile, added, provocatively: 'Text 100
have been uncharacteristically quiet since our victory ... and where's
our trophy?'
