De Facto hires to new business role
PR Week UK, Thursday, 29 September 2005, 12:00am,
Biotech specialist De Facto Communications has hired Deborah Cockerill as business development director.
Cockerill has joined the agency – acquired by Chime Communications last week in a deal worth up to £2m (PRWeek, 23 September) – from publisher Current Science Group, where she was head of business development for online publications. She formerly worked with publisher Elsevier.
At De Facto she reports to CEO Richard Anderson and is charged with winning new business across its three principal areas of activity – biotech, healthcare and clinical trials – as well as advising clients on online marketing strategy.
Separately, De Facto is next month to launch a branded medical education offer. Associate director Marcel Kay will run it alongside a yet-to-be-unveiled hire.
