IPC Ignite!, CMP Information, Focus Network, and Initiative Media.
IPC ignite! has announced two appointments to the board. Kevin Heery, head of ignite! online, has been promoted to director of digital development and Andrew Sumner, publisher ofUncut, has been promoted to publishing director. Heery joined ignite! in April 2001 as technical and production manager onNME.com, while Sumner joined in May 2002 as publishing manager for Loaded, becoming publisher of Uncut in July 2004.
CMP Information has promoted Daniel Spruytenburg to sales manager within the pharmacy group portfolio. Spruytenburg, who previously worked on Pulse classified, will join the team working on Chemist &Druggist, Over the Counter and Community Pharmacy.
Focus Network, part of IPC Country & Leisure Media, has made two new appointments. Joanna Pieters has been appointed as publisher of the Outdoor & Hobbies Group and Richard Marcroft has been promoted to associate publisher of Hi-Fi News and Guitar. Pieters joins Focus Network from Campion Interactive Publishing, where she was publishing director of Geographical . In her new role, Pieters will publish Caravan ,Motor Caravan, Park Home & Holiday Caravan , Stamp Magazine, Model Collector and Prediction, plus a range of specials and books. Marcroft was previously marketing manager and started his career with Focus Network in ad sales.
Mark Irwin joins Initiative as account manager, working on the Orange planning team. He joins from ZenithOptimedia, where he managed the Muller and Allied Domecq brands. Prior to that, he worked on Ford at MindShare. In addition to planning on Orange, Irwin will work on Saab, Continental Tyres and Timberland, while reporting to group account director Sean Pattison. Also joining Initiative is Sarah Howard , who will boost the Press Activation team – headed by press director Jane Wolfson and newly promoted deputy head of press Emma Dibben – as senior planner/buyer, working on Wanadoo and Powergen. Howard joins from The Allmond Partnership.
