Coutts Group, the international private banking business famed for
its royal patronage, is looking for an ad agency to help it raise the
profile of its sponsorship activities.
Sources close to company suggest, however, that the work may lead to
Coutts appointing a full-time agency for the first time in an attempt to
broaden its appeal.
At present the bank uses various agencies for project work, such as
DMB&B for direct mail. Its current search is for an advertising agency
to create advertisements to be used at sponsorship events.
The company sponsors a number of events such as an international
composing competition, a theatre company’s awards and a number of
equestrian events.
The search is being headed by the bank’s director of marketing, Paul
Fenney. In May this year the bank appointed a global PR agency for the
first time in an attempt to attract new customers to the business
worldwide.
