Scotland’s best-selling newspaper, The Scotsman, is launching its
own credit card in the first part of a brand extension drive.
The Scotsman, published by The Scotsman Group, which is owned by
European Holdings, has linked with MasterCard and The Royal Bank of
Scotland who will administer the card.
The title hopes to capitalise on Scotland’s strong sense of national
identity following the referendum in favour of devolution.
The credit card, which is branded ’A credit to the nation’, is supported
by an ad campaign in The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday.
The ads feature famous Scottish inventors such as John Logie Baird and
Alexander Graham Bell.
