Trendy golfers targeted with new mag

IPC Country and Leisure Media has launched Total Golf, a magazine available every six weeks during the summer for fans of the woods and irons, writes Hilary Way.

Bosses claim the new magazine will offer “a more vibrant approach” to the game, including information and instruction, insights into latest golf clubs and technology and jargon-free features.

Planned to be a series of four editions, Total Golf, will come out on May 6 at a launch price of £1.99, printed as an American A4 full colour title, covering the golfing season from May to October.

Editor Michael Harris said: ““Golf is no longer the preserve of ageing club members who wear awful knitwear.

“There are now more than five million golfers in the UK – the majority of which are 25 to 35 – who are not members of clubs, but who still love the game and play on a regular basis.

“The magazine will be the most practical and accessible guide for modern golfers, punctuated with humour, packed with attitude and peppered with style.”

A press campaign will support the launch in selected IPC titles.
