Boots has moved its £60 million UK media planning and buying account from OMD UK into MindShare, as part of a strategic global agreement with the WPP network.
Creative work will continue to be handled by J Walter Thompson, with other WPP operating companies supplying the majority of Boots’ consumer public relations, market research and brand consultancy needs. In total, the global account is worth around £80 million, with Boots hoping to translate the strength of its UK brand into the global arena.
Steve Russell, chief executive of The Boots Company, said: "This is a strategic decision, signifying greater focus and increased efficiency for Boots."
