IPC is to launch a women’s site called BeMe.com in February and has hired Elini Kyriacou, editor of Emap’s Looks magazine, to take the post of channel editor.
A preview page for BeMe.com went live this week stating that the site would be targetted at “mood swingers, city slickers, teched-up teens, modern mothers and anyone in-between”. It will be the second site to come out of IPC’s digital arm IPC Electric following the launch of tx’s unmissibleTV.com at the start of December.
BeMe.com will launch with 26 editorial staff and a major TV sponsorship deal.
IPC has also released preliminary results for the year to September 30, reporting pre-tax profit of £10.5 million, down on last year’s £29.7 million.
