- The United States Airforce is following the UK's Royal Air Force into television advertising for the first time as it fights to correct its rising recruitment shortfall.
The USAF is planning to triple its annual advertising spend to more than $60 million (£36 million) to support the move.
The campaign, through BJK&E out of Irving, Texas, will begin airing next month during CBS' broadcast of the NCAA men's college basketball tournament. TV buying is being handled by Bozell Worldwide, New York.
Last year the USAF spent $22 million (£13 million) in advertising mostly on print, network radio and Internet advertising.
