Wild named chairman of WPP Australia

- WPP has named former Ogilvy & Mather Australia chairman, Geoff Wild, as chairman of WPP Holdings in Australia.

Wild will be responsible for group's interests in Australia, which include the 40 per cent ownership of Singleton Ogilvy & Mather; J Walter Thompson, Ethnic Communications, Yann Campbell Hoare Wheeler, a market research firm; and public relations company Hill & Knowlton.
His appointment follows WPP's acquisition last week of 10 per cent of the Singleton Group, the Australian majority owner of Singleton Ogilvy & Mather. John Singleton Advertising merged with Ogilvy & Mather in Australia six months ago.
