- Universal McCann has rejigged its top management with the promotion of Robin Kent to the newly created worldwide post of president of Universal McCann,
Kent, who has been with Universal for four and a half years, was previously regional director of Universal McCann, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
He will work closely with Universal McCann's chairman, Ira Carlin, who said of the appointment: "When Universal McCann was launched last year as a worldwide operation, we set out to create a media services firm with a unique global footprint. We believed then, as we do now, that the highest levels of expertise and clout could be achieved as a media specialist while also finding a way to elevate media strategically within the entire brand-building and communications management process."
Kent has helped to develop Universal McCann's European business independently from its sister creative agency. McCann-Erickson and will be expected to extend this through the rest of the agency's network. Kent has also helped to develop Universal's strategic tools, including Media In Mind, a worldwide study which looks at the relationship between media habits and consumer behaviour which has been rolled out to over 40 countries.
A successor to Kent as regional director for Universal McCann Europe will be announced later.
