Radio's Ariel Awards receive record level of entries this year

Twenty-one commercials have made it to the shortlist for next week's Ariel Awards. This year's nominations include Hamlet, which swept the board at the awards last year, Dulux Weathershield, Kit Kat, Eurostar and Bachelors Cup a Soup.

The radio industry's annual ceremony is being chaired by HHCL & Partners' creative director, Steve Henry. He said: 'I was surprised at the quality of the work. It's a very good and exciting shortlist. I'm looking forward to seeing how people vote on the night.'
The jury includes: Kate Stanners, a joint creative director of St Luke's; Tom Carty from Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO; Mark Roalfe from Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R; Leon Jaume from WCRS; Patrick Collister from Creative Matters, and Trevor Robinson from Quiet Storm.
A spokeswoman for the Radio Advertising Bureau said: 'We received more than 700 entries this year, which is a record for these awards.'
