JC Decaux’s Sky Sites has sold a host of its sites at Eurostar’s
Waterloo International Terminal to the computer giant Compaq.
Compaq is running a poster and ambient campaign to promote Aero - its
new WAP-enabled mobile phone - to frequent business travellers.
The company has bought space at every entrance to the terminal,
including the escalators, taxi drop-off points and a banner on the lift
Once inside the terminal, commuters are met with footsteps and the
messages: ’You can check your e-mail here’ and ’You can access the net
here’. The footsteps lead to a stand where Compaq employees demonstrate
Compaq has also bought a five-metre square 3D panel and light boxes.
The sites, which will be in place for two weeks, were sold by Sky Sites’
ambient manager Christina Matassi.

The Compaq drive is the largest campaign to run since Sky Sites picked
up Eurostar’s ambient media contract in November 1999.
Lee Lawrence, sales director of Sky Sites, said: ’Sky Sites has created
a completely Compaq-branded area within Eurostar’s Waterloo
International Terminal. The ambient opportunities are eye-catching and
will reach a high proportion of the target market.’
