Ogilvy & Mather has lured Steve Barton from its sister agency,
OgilvyOne, to head the pounds 38 million Kodak above- and below-the-line
account across Europe.
Barton’s remit as business director will include overseeing the pounds
4.4 million Kodak business in the UK as well as promoting the brand
across the Middle East and Africa. ’Steve has an outstanding talent for
building long-term relationships with senior clients and is one of the
few people who genuinely understands brand communications in the
broadest sense,’ Richard Pinder, O&M’s deputy managing director,
said.
Barton has been a board director at O&M since 1994 when he was put in
charge of IBM UK’s above- and below-the-line business. Two years later,
he began to handle IBM consumer business across Europe. He commented:
’One of the challenges I’m looking forward to is using what I learned on
a local level and making it work across Europe.’
