Murray Lachlan Young, the performance poet star of the forthcoming
Virgin Atlantic Airways TV campaign, is to feature in new advertising
for the London department store, Liberty.
Two print ads, created by Bean Andrews Norways Cramphorn, feature
Lachlan Young and the stylist, Isabella Blow, in artistic poses,
surrounded by the spoils of a shopping trip to the store.
In the first ad, Blow reclines on a four-poster bed wearing clothes from
the fashion designers, Tristan Webber and Alexander McQueen. The second
ad shows Lachlan Young leaning against a chest of drawers, dressed in
clothes by Dries Van Noten and Yohji Yamamoto.
The ads were art directed by Graeme Norways, written by Howard Fletcher
and shot by the fashion photographer, Zanna. They break at the beginning
of March in glossy magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair and World of
Interiors and will appear on 16-sheet, cross-track posters in April.
Media buying is through PHD Compass.
BANC’s managing director, Mark Cramphorn, said: ’The campaign highlights
Liberty’s relationship with idiosyncratic artisans.’
Liberty’s chairman, Philip Bowman, commented: ’I am confident the
campaign will play a key role in the repositioning strategy.’
