LONDON - Reuters.co.uk is targeting commuters in the City of London in a new advertising campaign encouraging them to keep in touch via the website.
The ads have been created by design agency Howdy and target professionals commuting through locations including Liverpool Street, where they will take over an escalator completely, as well as in St Paul's station and Cannon Street station.
The push will also see Reuters handing out branded Tube maps at a number of stations, and branded coffee cup sleeves in in-house and independent cafes across the City.
Reuters.co.uk relaunched late last year with improved appeal for consumers and a move to make more of its content exclusive to the Reuters.co.uk site. The City advertising push is just one of the ad and marketing campaigns that will appear this year to promote the new features.
Alisa Bowen, head of Reuters.co.uk, said: "Reuters.co.uk goes from strength to strength. Last year we doubled our audience and we are consistently seeing strong growth in demand from advertisers to appear on the site. This campaign is just the start of an exciting and innovative marketing programme planned to help grow our audience even further this year."
Last week, Reuters named Astrid Zweynert as its new UK online editor with immediate effect. In this role, she will lead news coverage and manage the news service Reuters provides to online customers in the UK. Zweynert has been with Reuters since 1994.
