Diary: Senior PROs make Who's Who grade
PR Week UK, Friday, 14 January 2005, 12:00am,
You know it has been a big year for the PR industry when no fewer than four illustrious figures from its ranks are elevated into Who's Who 2005.
Following last year's dismal result, which saw no PROs deemed worthy of the list, who else should lead the communications revival but the Church of England.
Two of its foremost communicators - Stephen Jenkins, the head of media relations for the Archbishops' Council of the COE, and Rev Jonathan Jennings, the press secretary to the Archbishop of Canterbury - have received the call-up.
The road to fame has treated the pair differently it seems - while Rev Jennings finds time for sea fishing, cricket, steam railways and supporting Middlesbrough FC, Jenkins, a former journalist for Big Farm Weekly, lists 'the search for time' among his recreations.
Home Office director of comms Julia Simpson gets a run, as does bombologist, Parson Woodforde Society member and marathon runner Christopher Satterthwaite, who is also Chime Communications group CEO.
