Classic FM TV to make web debut with VW sponsorship
Staff,, Marketing, Thursday, 16 December 2004, 8:00am,
LONDON - Classic FM TV, the classical music video channel, is to go online via a 24-hour broadband steaming service.
The channel, which broadcasts on Sky 464 and NTL 921, has a monthly audience of 2.4m, according to Barb. Classic FM plans to increase this by tapping in to the 3m UK homes with broadband.
The free ClassicFM.com service is being sponsored by Volkswagen, which is using it to break the first ads for its Phaeton model.
When users log on to the site, they will be shown the ad, created by digital agency Tribal DDB, before accessing the streaming service, developed by Global MIX.
