Blackpool night bus
PR Week UK, Friday, 10 December 2004, 12:00am,
Blackpool Council has launched a media relations campaign to promote a new night-bus service that it has launched to address anti-social behaviour in the Lancashire seaside town.
The council expects the service to appeal to drinkers in their late teens and 20s who want to return home cheaply and safely, a spokeswoman said.
The service will be run on a six-month pilot on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, including Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The buses will carry CCTV and licensed security staff.
