Place2Be hunts for PR support
PR Week UK, Friday, 10 December 2004, 12:00am,
Place2Be, the children’s charity that offers counselling to primary school children who have been through a trauma, as well as their parents and teachers, is seeking to appoint a PR agency on a pro-bono basis.
Charity founder and CEO Benita Refson said: ‘We are reaching 34,000 children in 92 schools and have plans to reach 150 schools by 2007, which will affect 100,000 children.
‘We need to raise our profile to make people aware of what we do and then to gain their support,’ she added.
Refson said one in five children are known to need therapeutic support because of a trauma such as bereavement – but at present only one in ten children receives it.
