Media Relations: PokerStars sets sights on women
PR Week UK, Friday, 05 November 2004, 12:00am,
The world’s second largest online poker site PokerStars has included women’s media in a broadly targeted PR campaign to promote its involvement in the European Poker Tour (EPT).
Sharon Reid, account director at Jackie Cooper PR, which is working on an initial six-month PR drive, explained that the internet offers women a less intimidating introduction to poker than casinos.
The campaign will highlight examples of success users have had to drive consumers to the site. It will also publicise the EPT, which launched this year, with upcoming events in Austria, France and the grand final in Monte Carlo next March.
PokerStars is a US client of JCPR’s parent company Edelman.
